Summary

Oliver Park, a young recovering addict from Indiana, finally has everything he ever wanted: sobriety and a loving, wealthy partner in Nathan, a prominent DC trauma surgeon。 Despite their difference in age and disparate backgrounds, they've made a perfect life together。 With everything to lose, Oliver shouldn't be visiting Haus, a gay bathhouse。 But through the entrance he goes, and it's a line crossed。 Inside, he follows a man into a private room, and it's the final line。 Whatever happens next, Nathan can never know。 But then, everything goes wrong, terribly wrong, and Oliver barely escapes with his life。

He races home in full-blown terror as the hand-shaped bruise grows dark on his neck。 The truth will destroy Nathan and everything they have together, so Oliver does the thing he used to do so well: he lies。

What follows is a classic runaway-train narrative, full of the exquisite escalations, edge-of-your-seat thrills, and oh-my-god twists。 P。 J。 Vernon's Bath Haus is a scintillating thriller with an emotional punch, perfect for readers curious for their next must-read novel。

This is one of the best thrillers I have read all year。 You will tear through the last 50 pages。 I can’t wait for this authors next book。

Can't wait for more P。J。, hopefully in 2022 🤞🏽•⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 。。。more

This book was CRAZY! It’s a rollercoaster ride of bad decisions, secrets, warranted paranoia, and the classic unreliable narrator。 It’s dark and sexual, and is definitely one of the best thrillers of the year。

Wow, this was on fire right out of the gate。 I wanted to stop everything so I could sit and read about all the awful consequences unfolding after Oliver's horrible decision to go to Haus behind Nathan's back。 Kristian, the antagonist, was truly terrifying。 I love deeply flawed characters and all of them in Bath Haus did not disappoint。 I have to admit I didn't see any of the twists coming nor the shocking ending。 Gritty and wonderfully dark and messed-up。 LOVED! Super juicy and twisty! This is what I wanted Yes, Daddy to be。

I wanted to like this more than I did because it suffered from the trope of characters not talking to each other when they probably would be compelled to。 Also, what a small and miserable social circle :(

This is the trashy gay summer beach read I've been missing。 It moves at a quick pace, and it's full of sexy dumb people doing sexy dumb things。 Equal parts camp and thriller, it's an incredibly gripping thriller that's best not thought too closely about。 An absolute blast to read! 5++ stars! Wow, this book grabs you from the beginning and doesn't let you go until the end。 It is a thriller that is dark, filled with lies, secrets, bad decisions, and things coming at you that you never expect。 It is the story of Nathan and Oliver, in a relationship and seemingly perfect life for 5 years, and how one choice starts a snowball of actions and things begin to slowly unravel。 It just builds and builds all the way until the end。 I don't want to give anything away because as others 5++ stars! This was an entertaining thriller, but I'm getting kind of tired of the narrative technique this author used of alternating perspectives。 The main characters are a former drug addict and gadabout who becomes the partner of a sugar daddy surgeon。 The former addict still wants to party; the surgeon wants him to be virtually a house husband。 And there's an obscenely wealthy mother-in-law who wants to be rid of the former addict so her son can date a "marriageable" sort of man。 It all collides in a This was an entertaining thriller, but I'm getting kind of tired of the narrative technique this author used of alternating perspectives。 The main characters are a former drug addict and gadabout who becomes the partner of a sugar daddy surgeon。 The former addict still wants to party; the surgeon wants him to be virtually a house husband。 And there's an obscenely wealthy mother-in-law who wants to be rid of the former addict so her son can date a "marriageable" sort of man。 It all collides in a fairly clever way, but the characters feel like types more than individuals。 。。。more

Such a good book! Without spoiling too much- all I have to say is that I really dislike the main character Oliver。 He is so selfish and every decision that he makes is for self preservation。 The journey is riveting because you will find yourself rooting against him and wanting him to be outed for his actions。 I feel bad for his partner, Nathan。 Every person is responsible for their own actions but I truly believe the people you love can and will influence your decisions in life。 I don't agree wi Such a good book! Rounded up from 2。5。 I really wanted to like this book。 I enjoy thrillers, and a thriller involving gay male protagonists in a steamy (get it?) environment seemed like a good breezy summer read。 Which it was, don't get me wrong, I was entertained。 I read the whole thing in 2 sittings。 But, I'm not sure, something about this book just didn't sit right with me。 I found the sexual politics of the whole thing oddly regressive, even if the twist ending kind of softened that stance a bit。 The gay worl Rounded up from 2。5。 I really wanted to like this book。 I enjoy thrillers, and a thriller involving gay male protagonists in a steamy (get it?) environment seemed like a good breezy summer read。 Which it was, don't get me wrong, I was entertained。 I read the whole thing in 2 sittings。 But, I'm not sure, something about this book just didn't sit right with me。 I found the sexual politics of the whole thing oddly regressive, even if the twist ending kind of softened that stance a bit。 The gay world of Bath Haus is tawdry and substance fueled, where the only sex you can find on hookup apps is party and play and you have run ins with murderers at bathhouses where owners try to cover up crimes that have been committed to "protect our own。" Whatever this gay world is, I thank goodness it isn't close to anything I've ever experienced in reality。 。。。more

Bath Haus started started off really strong for me。 I read the first 100 pages in what felt like 5 minutes。 Ultimately, it dragged on and lost that suspense。

Bath Haus was a wild ride and quite frankly one that I didn't get want to get off from。 Vernon wasted no time to allure you into the darkness of Bath Haus and things escalated quite fast。 Once I began reading I was not able to stop because the secrets, twists, tension, suspense, and the thrill just kept coming。 You know someone will get hurt, but you can't stop yourself from reading! This story had only a few characters and none of them were very appealing, but it had a good plot and pace。 The gay/bath house world is unfamiliar to me and I enjoyed reading about that as well as the overall theme of lying and love。

Unfortunately I am not of a fan of this one。 It left me feeling more frustrated than it probably intended its reader to be。 There were moments when I just had to shout “Oh c’mon” out loud because, again, story just don’t gel together very well。 The other issue I had is with the relationship between the two main characters (and also their individual characters to be really honest) that was just too one dimensional and predictable。 A quarter into the book I can kind of guess where the plot is goin Unfortunately I am not of a fan of this one。 It left me feeling more frustrated than it probably intended its reader to be。 There were moments when I just had to shout “Oh c’mon” out loud because, again, story just don’t gel together very well。 The other issue I had is with the relationship between the two main characters (and also their individual characters to be really honest) that was just too one dimensional and predictable。 A quarter into the book I can kind of guess where the plot is going。 It is also horrible how the author depicts gay men; each of them were just immature, shallow and annoying people。A few tense moments here and there, and still a good summer read nonetheless。 。。。more

It's not bad, or anything, but I give it a solid "meh"。 It's a pretty spare book, not rich in detail, story, or motivation。 You kind of guess that something hinky (yes, I said hinky, no I didn't mean kinky, you're just being silly!) is going on, but it's not spelled out right away。 I honestly don't know what prompted a reviewer to say whatever they said about it to make me put it on my list。 It was just okay。 It's not bad, or anything, but I give it a solid "meh"。 It's a pretty spare book, not rich in detail, story, or motivation。 You kind of guess that something hinky (yes, I said hinky, no I didn't mean kinky, you're just being silly!) is going on, but it's not spelled out right away。 I honestly don't know what prompted a reviewer to say whatever they said about it to make me put it on my list。 It was just okay。 。。。more
